Practical Method Online Classes
Train with Practical Method Sydney wherever you are.
Our Tuesday online class provides structured Practical Method training for students who can't regularly attend in Sydney — or who want an additional weekly training session.
Classes include instruction, individual correction and time to work through Practical Method Core Elements, Foundations and Forms.
Tuesday 7:00–8:00pm Sydney time
Live on Zoom · Class recordings included
What can you learn online?
Practical Method benefits enormously from hands-on correction and partner testing, so online training isn't a complete substitute for training together in person.
But a large part of the method requires something else:
regular, precise practice.
Online classes are particularly useful for working on:
Core Elements;
Basic Foundations;
Yilu;
movement rules;
sequencing;
repetition;
questions arising from your own practice.
Your movement can also be observed and corrected live on camera.
Live class + recordings
Every Tuesday class is recorded.
Participants receive access to the class recording afterwards, so you can return to:
your corrections;
demonstrations;
explanations;
sections of Yilu covered during class.
This turns a one-hour class into a reference for the rest of the week's practice.
What happens in an online class?
A typical class may include:
Core Elements & Foundations
Basic Practical Method exercises and movement rules.
Yilu
Working through sections of the first routine with corrections and repetition.
Individual correction
Students demonstrate movements on camera and receive feedback.
Questions
Time to examine problems that have come up during your own practice.
The exact content varies according to the students attending and where they are in their training.
Can I start Practical Method online?
Yes.
If you're outside Sydney, online classes can introduce the Foundations and Yilu and give you a structured way to begin practising.
If you live in Sydney, we generally recommend experiencing an in-person class as well. Some aspects of Practical Method — particularly touch, partner testing and hands-on correction — need to be experienced physically.
Workshops and other opportunities for in-person training can also complement regular online practice.

How regular access works
Regular online students use an account on practicalmethod.com to access the online training material and class recordings.
If you decide to continue after your introductory class:
1. We'll help arrange your practicalmethod.com account.
2. Choose the appropriate monthly or yearly training package.
3. Continue attending the Tuesday class.
4. Use the class recordings to support your practice during the week.
Already attending but unsure which package to purchase?
What do I need?
Keep it extremely simple:
a phone, tablet or computer with Zoom;
enough space to stand and move;
a camera positioned so your whole body can be seen where possible.
No specialist equipment is required.
For Yilu, more floor space is useful, but students can adapt where necessary.
